The Bundle@Performance Factory building in the center of Enschede is a living and working complex for young people that combines innovative technologies and sustainability. This modern complex, consisting of 202 studios and spacious communal areas, offers comfortable living facilities as well as integrated smart home functions. The units were delivered turnkey and are already equipped with the LUXORliving smart home system from Theben - a pioneer in the application of large-scale smart home solutions in prefabricated residential modules.
The housing associations Domijn and De Veste, which jointly manage the complex under the Bundle brand, had a clear objective: to create a modern, energy-efficient and user-friendly smart home solution for young residents. In close cooperation with Theben, the LUXORliving system was selected to meet the requirements for energy efficiency and sustainability. Installed and pre-configured by the specialists at Loohuis Modulair, the studios are able to efficiently control not only the lighting and heating but also the shading and ventilation - all in a user-friendly way without the need for extensive technical knowledge.
The studios were prefabricated in the factory for wooden buildings in Enschede and equipped with all the necessary functions. In addition to the basic equipment of the living spaces, the LUXORliving system from Theben controls the energy-saving lighting, the room temperature and the automated sun protection and ventilation systems. A Theben weather station installed on the roof collects data on wind, rain and the position of the sun and controls the blinds depending on the weather conditions. For the residents, this smart networking results in noticeable energy savings and a high level of comfort in everyday life.
Thanks to the comprehensive integration of LUXORliving, the young residents benefit from intuitive control of their living environment and noticeable energy savings. The automatic regulation of window shades in stormy weather and the intelligent ventilation system ensure that damage is minimized and the indoor climate is optimized. A special highlight is the "all-off" function: when you leave the studio, all the lights switch off automatically, the heating is turned down and the blinds move to an energy-saving position. This sophisticated functionality not only ensures comfort, but also supports the sustainability goals of the housing associations.
Additional security functions such as the panic button, which switches on all the lights and opens the blinds when pressed, offer residents added security. In the event of a fire, the system automatically closes the fire dampers to prevent the spread of smoke and flames. The LUXORliving system thus combines comfort and safety with efficient energy management.
To make it easier to operate the smart home functions, residents were given an introduction to the system and the technical staff were also trained by Theben and Loohuis to be able to reset the studios quickly and efficiently when tenants change. This training facilitates the transition to the new technology and ensures optimal support for tenants in their daily lives.
